Filter portal Menu Options by security role

We would like to be able to only display certain My Options menu items in the Portal to certain groups of users e.g. IT RFC to IT users only. We can kind of do it by using multiple portal systems and sending different users to different systems, but it's clumsy. We would prefer if it we could link menu items to portal security roles.
