This would be useful because we have several workflows that are accomplishing similar but different tasks within the same workflow. The output of these workflows may require that a brand new workflow be created to accomplish more similar, but different work. Currently we are unable to accomplish this because the "Create Request Task" only allows you to create requests using a different workflow template than the current one.
This would benefit any organization that leverages a single workflow to accomplish similar but different tasks. For example, a workflow we would want to use this for is Printer Lifecycle. This workflow handles three different scenarios: New or Replace, Move, Salvage. The outcome of a replaced printer will result in the old printer either being moved or salvaged. Since this is a different, but related tasks, it would be best handled through a new request. But currently we can't accomplish this with the Create Request Task.
It should work much the same as it does now, but the Workflow Template dropdown would display the current workflow as an option.
Totally. We have had to do a, Create Request on a different workflow template that does nothing except a Create Request on the original one, which gets the job done but leaves us with overhead.
