It would be great to have the ability to manipulate the contents of an incoming email and have it place information from the email in fields on any custom screens you create. For example, if an email comes in from sharepoint about a new starter, have it populate the first name, last name, applications required etc. in the screen based on contents of the email. Then the workflow could be driven based off what fields were filled out in the service request screen. Obviously this would require incoming email to also be able to log requests.
Yes this is possible, the connector ignores the Call Template assigned to the Email Server and instead uses the Call or Request template that specify in the Event Type Mappings : http://www.alemba.help/help/content/topics/integration/managing_event_type_mappings.htm

A connector for incoming emails has been developed in vFire 9.9.
