At present if a pre existing vfire system exists that requires partitioning due to new business areas being onboarded. There is no capability within the tool to move data that was previously unpartitioned to the required partition.
Scenario:
Customer A operates vFire in an unpartitioned system
They wish to bring a new business unit onboard and thus create 2 partitions. Unpatitioned data remains in the unspecified partition such as customers / organisations. Existing data needs to be moved to one of the newly created partitions (existing call information etc).
The partitioning options are selected within the system but scripts need to be run at the database level to move the existing data to the required partition.
Solution:
On selection of the options to partition within Partition Settings once the save button is selected you are prompted to confirm which partition you want to move existing data to. This then runs the required backend scripts and moves the data automatically.
The reverse should also be true. If the customer wishes to unpartition data, on save it automatically moved the data back to the unspecified partition (0)
