As Senior Knowledge Officer, I've noticed a definitive trend where edits to the Knowledge Bank are highly likely to be Minor Edits, as the checkbox for Minor Edit is always ticked by default.
I'd like to suggest one of two solutions to have contributors actually designate whether they're making a major or minor contribution:
While I can appreciate that having the Minor Edit selected by default may be convenient, staff are forgetting that it's there and as a result few contributors are appearing listed against articles. A risk is also that version history is not being saved for Minor Edits; the consensus from our team is that a radio button or forced selection for whether the update is Minor or Major would be a good thing.
