When defining a person search field - it would be beneficial to be able to tell the specific extension field that disabled records should be searched too. The current search field by default is limited to searching only active records. I want to be able to create a service request (for example) where someone could request access to a mailbox from a past employee. Being able to pull the person record for disabled accounts would allow this to happen. Sure, a text field could potentially be used - but when names are similar - or multiple people with the same name exist - this would allow you to be sure to get the right one.
