Date formats are currently based on a global setting meaning that implementation that are rolled out globally have formatting that is not commonly used in specific regions (e.g. DD-MM-YYY for europe and MM-DD-YYYY in america). The setting should be based ideally on the local machines regional settings or if this is not possible due to security restrictions, based on a user preference. Would apply to the entire system and all interfaces.
